The Silence On The Road

The Silence On The Road is a lyrical journal about lost identity and the subsequent journey to rediscover meaning in life while living with a chronic illness.
In 2020, the pandemic hit — and it was the worst time for something unrelated to go wrong. The world was in freefall, and getting a doctor to listen was almost impossible. What followed was the slow-motion unravelling of a life, with no clear resolution in sight.
Health anxiety and coping mechanisms led to a gradual withdrawal from social occasions, turning what should have been connection into isolation and hibernation.
The condition was Gastroparesis — a paralyzed stomach — which brought with it intense weight loss, malnutrition, and an inability to eat nearly all foods and liquids.
